COVENANT UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION 5-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN 2025-2030

President’s Message

Dear Eagles and Friends of our great Association,

Since inception, the Covenant University Alumni Association (CUALA) has continued to grow in numbers and impact while maintaining a track record of excellence. With the release of every flight; CUALA has evolved causing us to revisit our fundamental objectives and how we deliver on our priorities. To this effect, we have worked on this forward-looking strategic plan to ensure we maintain sustainable progress as we evolve into a more inclusive and agile body. Having spent ample time understanding how we tick; we have identified core areas of focus with the expectation that these will be reviewed every 5 years and updated for relevance if required. 2025 marks the release of our 20th Flight of Eagles which bears prophetic significance for us as a family. This plan was shaped by contributions from students, key stakeholders and members of the community to ensure that it is relevant. It has also been reconciled with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ensure alignment with the priorities of global systems, leaders and economies.

We want to empower you to thrive regardless of where you are in your life journey. It is a call to action and I hope it will inspire you to find a place for contribution and seize the opportunities we provide.

Keep Winning!

Background

The Covenant University Alumni Association (CUALA) has made great progress in nurturing its community of Eagles and boosting engagement levels. There continues to be an increase in the number of leadership and volunteer opportunities with potential for further expansion. This plan identifies areas of focus aimed at promoting stronger and mutually beneficial relationships between members of the Association and key stakeholders including Covenant University. It serves as a roadmap to guide detailed yearly deliverables and define measures of success. In partnership with the Board of Trustees, the Alumni Working Group (AWG) will evaluate annual progress towards individual goals and update the strategies accordingly. The aim of this is to foster transparency and collaboration as we implement all aspects of the Plan. The AWG will review progress on an ongoing basis of 12 month intervals. This will ensure that we stay innovative and adaptive towards new technologies, trends and areas of priorities as they develop.
