Woven Market Africa, a sustainable, eco-conscious handwoven textile brand, is seeking a Marketing Strategist to drive global brand visibility and strategic campaigns across the fashion ecosystem. This role blends strategy, brand storytelling, PR, advertising, and business development, ensuring Woven Market Africa is positioned as a leader in sustainable fashion.
You will spearhead global campaigns, media partnerships, and strategic initiatives, positioning the brand in top-tier fashion and business platforms, strengthening international visibility, and translating market insights into creative, results-driven strategies. This role requires a strategic, globally-minded leader who can craft and execute initiatives that elevate Woven Market Africa’s visibility, forge meaningful partnerships, and drive measurable impact across national and international markets.
What the Marketing Strategist Will Do
Global Brand Placement: Establish Woven Market Africa as a relevant voice in sustainable fashion by securing features, collaborations, and strategic mentions in top-tier international fashion, lifestyle, and business media. Success will be measured by KPIs such as the number of high-profile media placements, collaborations secured, and international audience reach.
Public Relations & Thought Leadership: Develop and execute PR strategies that elevate the brand narrative, including press releases, media partnerships, and influencer collaborations. KPIs include media impressions, share of voice, and engagement from key audiences.
Strategic Partnerships & Affiliations: Identify and cultivate relevant brand affiliations, collaborations, and partnerships nationally and internationally across fashion, art, design, and creative sectors. KPI metrics include partnership activations, co-branded initiatives, and cross-industry visibility.
Advertising & Campaign Leadership: Plan and oversee advertising campaigns across digital, print, and experiential platforms that align with Woven Market Africa’s brand values. Performance will be tracked via campaign reach, engagement, conversions, and ROI.
Integrated Marketing Strategy: Design multi-channel campaigns that combine content, social media, events, collaborations, and email to deliver a cohesive, measurable brand story. KPIs include campaign reach, engagement, conversions, and audience growth.
Market Insight & Strategy Optimisation: Continuously monitor global fashion trends, consumer behaviour, and competitor activity to inform strategies and maintain the brand’s relevance internationally. Success is measured through data-driven improvements to campaigns and market positioning.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Fashion Business, Brand Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years in marketing strategy, brand management, or communications with proven experience in global brand placement, PR, advertising, or strategic partnerships, ideally in fashion, lifestyle, or creative industries. Agency Experience is a plus.
Proven experience in global brand placement, media relations, PR, and advertising campaigns. Track record of securing features in top-tier fashion, lifestyle, and business media, and building strategic partnerships.
Experience leading cross-functional teams and executing multi-channel campaigns with measurable results.
Proficiency in marketing automation, CRM, and analytics tools (HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, Google Analytics, Looker Studio, Mailchimp).
Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Deep understanding of global fashion trends, sustainability, and lifestyle branding.
