Project Officer/Coordinator at CUALA

About CUALA and the Job:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Covenant University Alumni Association (CUALA). This is an innovative and forward-thinking not-for-profit organisation where you have the opportunity to learn multiple skills while delivering work that has a visible and long-lasting impact on members of the association.

You will report to the Executive Secretary of the Alumni Association with dotted lines to the VPs of any Directorates within which projects are being managed.

This job gives you the flexibility to work remotely without feeling isolated – there is a community of leaders and volunteers always on board to keep you excited with meaningful and impactful work.

What we are looking for – The Job

  • Work with relevant partners to define project scope and objectives
  • Outline the resources needed to reach project objectives and work with project leads to manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution
  • Monitor progress of the project and make adjustments as needed
  • Measure and report on project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure all project activities are well documented with the appropriate reports delivered to demonstrate impact

What we are looking for – The Person

  • First-degree qualification from any related discipline
  • Must be a graduate of Covenant University
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a similar position coordinating and managing small to medium scale projects
  • Can-do attitude and openness to learn
  • Excellent people engagement and relationship management skills
  • Good Project Management skills
  • Growth mindset and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan and coordinate events
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent use of Microsoft office package
