PRESIDENT
The President shall:
- Be responsible to the Board of Trustees of the Association.
- Be responsible for the executive coordination of the Association.
- Be the Chief Executive Officer of the Association.
- Serve within his/her tenure as a member of the Board of Trustees
- Preside over all Executive Council meetings and approve agenda for such meetings.
- Commission relevant teams and committees to execute special tasks for the Association.
- Be the custodian of the laws of the Association and ensure all actions and activities conform to the expectations of the Association as approved by the Board of Trustees.
- Be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition upon expiration of tenure.
- Deliver a report of community activities for inclusion into the association’s period alumni reports, and other ad-hoc community engagement reports requested by the leadership teams.
- Serve as a representative of the Association at all events.
- Perform other strategic duties that the Board of Trustees may assign.
- Attend important meetings such as Alumni Working Group meetings and other community leaders’ meetings.
VICE PRESIDENT BUSINESS
The Vice President, Business shall:
- Be responsible to the Board of Trustees through the President.
- Serve as a member of the Alumni Leadership Council.
- Serve as Chair of the Strategic Business Team.
- Be responsible for identifying and creating new revenue sources for the entrepreneurial future of the Association.
- Be a member of the Endowment Funds Committee, which shall be responsible for overseeing financial investment and Business concerns of the Association in Business, Real Estate, and other entrepreneurial concerns.
- Work with the VP, Finance in matters of mutual concern beneficial to the aspirations of the Association.
- Collaborate with the VP, Finance for the management of all investment earnings of the Association
- Deliver a report of activities for inclusion into the association’s period alumni reports, and other ad-hoc community engagement reports requested by the leadership teams.
- Attend important meetings such as Alumni Working Group meetings and other community leaders’ meetings.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the President, related to the functions of the office.
VICE PRESIDENT CAREERS
The Vice President, Careers shall:
- Be responsible to the Board of Trustees through the President of the Association.
- Serve as the Chairman of the Career Development Team.
- Ensure a smooth conduct of the Career division of the Alumni Mentoring Program.
- Be responsible for coordinating the Association’s Annual Career Fair.
- Responsible for the administrative arm of the secretariat.
- Promote career awareness, exploration, and planning.
- Deliver a report of activities for inclusion into the association’s period alumni reports, as well as other ad-hoc community engagement reports requested by the leadership teams.
- Attend important meetings such as Alumni Working Group meetings and other community leaders’ meetings.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the President, related to the functions of the office.
VICE PRESIDENT, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
The Vice President, Community Engagement shall:
- Be responsible to the Board of Trustees through the President.
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate community activities through the Flight/Chapter leads, and other appointed admins/officers managing local communities.
- Design and execute community outreach efforts aimed at attracting disengaged Eagles, and fostering continuous engagement within the association.
- Manage the community engagement platforms such as community groups where members interact and engage, including creating and deactivating groups as needed.
- Collaborate with the VP, Corporate Communications to keep the community informed of important updates, news, and activities.
- Govern the community calendar of events/activities ensuring upcoming events are scheduled and planned efficiently.
- Deliver a report of community activities for inclusion into the association’s period alumni reports, and other ad-hoc community engagement reports requested by the leadership teams.
- Support the office of the Vice President, University Relations in onboarding new graduates into the alumni community.
- Maintain relevant community engagement policies such as, but not limited to the Community Culture / Code of Conduct in the association’s community group.
- Engage and collaborate with 3rd party organisations such as other alumni associations to plan and organise activities for the community.
- Attend important meetings including Executive Council, and Alumni Working Group meetings.
- Maintain the VP, Community Engagement mailbox and respond to correspondences directed at the office.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the President, related to the functions of the office.
VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS
The Vice President, Corporate Communications shall:
- Be responsible to the Board of Trustees through the President of the Association.
- Be responsible for the conduct, administration, and execution of all communication strategies of the Association.
- Build and maintain a team of volunteers to support the development of communication/engagement activities of the association in collaboration with the VP, Community Engagement.
- Work with the Executive Secretary and VP, Community Engagement to disseminate information to the members of the Association using several media platforms including but not limited to newsletters, blogs, social media platforms, and website.
- Develop strategies on the use of Information & Communication Technology platforms and systems to aid the operations of the Association.
- Manage all press-related activities on behalf of the Association
- Develop and maintain communication and engagement policies in collaboration with the VP, Community Engagement for the Association.
- Identify and establish strategic partnerships to enhance the communication & engagement-related offerings of the Association. e.g access to PR platforms
- Develop the annual budget and funding plan for communications-related activities in partnership with the Finance directorate.
- Deliver a report of communication activities for inclusion into the association’s half and end-of-year reports, as well as other ad-hoc communication reports requested by the leadership teams.
- Be responsible for leading, coordinating, and collating inputs for the half-year and end-of-year alumni reports from all Flight leads, chapter leads, VPs, the President, and the Board of Trustees and distributing this to the community in collaboration with the community engagement directorate.
- Attend important meetings such as Alumni Working Group meetings and other community leaders’ meetings.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the President, related to the functions of the office.
VICE PRESIDENT, FINANCE
The Vice President, Finance shall:
- Be responsible to the Board of Trustees through the President
- Collect all funds for the Association, record them properly, pay the same to the Association Account, and keep bank records.
- Submit financial reports to the Association whenever called upon.
- Cooperate with the auditors during accounts auditing.
- Maintain an up-to-date record of the Association’s financial standing.
- Forward periodic financial reports to the Association
- Keep an imprest account of N200,000 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira Only) to meet urgent expenses.
- Be responsible for preparing the budgets of the Association for Board approval.
- Be a member of the Endowment Funds Committee, which shall be responsible for the management of all investment earnings of the Association.
- Advise on the membership dues and levies structure of the Association.
- Be responsible for the management of the financial policies and systems of the Association.
- Work with the Executive Secretary for inclusion in the records of the Association.
- Deliver a report of activities for inclusion into the association’s period alumni reports and other ad-hoc community engagement reports requested by the leadership teams.
- Attend important meetings such as Alumni Working Group meetings and other community leaders’ meetings.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the President, related to the functions of the office.
VICE PRESIDENT, UNIVERSITY RELATIONS
The Vice President, University Relations shall:
- Be responsible to the Board of Trustees through the President.
- Liaise with the University authorities on issues affecting the Association.
- Receive information from the University to the Association.
- Be responsible to the Board of Trustees through the President of the Association.
- Serve as the Chairman of the University Development Team.
- Be responsible for designing student engagement and enlightenment approaches to connect them with the Association.
- Be responsible for identifying and executing all approved programs meant for the relations of the university that are held in partnership with the association.
- Be responsible for coordinating the Alumni Mentoring Programs.
- Identify opportunities to support the faculty, staff, and students of Covenant University.
- Recommend projects that require the intervention/cooperation of the Alumni in the University.
- Deliver a report of activities for inclusion into the association’s period alumni reports and other ad-hoc community engagement reports requested by the leadership teams.
- Attend important meetings such as Alumni Working Group meetings and other community leaders’ meetings.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the President, related to the functions of the office
VICE PRESIDENT, WELFARE AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The Vice President, Welfare and Community Outreach shall:
- Be responsible to the Board of Trustees through the President.
- Design, develop, and implement welfare programs and activities to enhance the physical and emotional well-being of Association members.
- Report to the Board of Trustees through the President of the Association.
- Serve as a member of the Alumni Leadership Council.
- Facilitate timely and effective responses to social and welfare needs of alumni members as they arise.
- Establish and maintain institutional partnerships between the Association and corporate organizations to drive social programs and agendas.
- Report cases related to health and social concerns affecting members of the Association.
- Prepare reports on activities for inclusion in periodic alumni reports or any ad hoc community engagement reports requested by the leadership team.
- Develop and maintain welfare policies for the Association.
- Collaborate with the Finance Directorate to create an annual budget and funding plan for welfare-related activities.
- Participate in key meetings, such as the Alumni Working Group meetings and other relevant community leadership gatherings.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities assigned by the President, related to the functions of the office.
CHAPTER LEAD
The Chapter Lead shall:
- Report to the Vice President, Community Engagement of the Alumni Association.
- Build and maintain a team of elected/appointed volunteers within the Chapter to support the day-to-day operations of the Chapter.
- Schedule, plan, and organise value-driven, social, and give-back events/activities within their chapter, to build connections and drive engagement within their local community.
- Manage the assigned Chapter community platform, ensuring eligible members are maintained on the platform.
- Design and execute plans to welcome and onboard new joiners/migrants into their local community.
- Support the secretariat with keeping an up-to-date database of members’ records by encouraging and reminding members within their community to keep their membership data up-to-date.
- Disseminate news/updates across their local community to keep members current.
- Maintain decorum and a positive culture within their community group(s) with the aim of providing a space where Eagles can connect, interact, and thrive.
- Handle (as a first point of contact) sensitive cases such as welfare cases within the local community, and engage/escalate where necessary within the CUALA leadership.
- Deliver a report of community activities for inclusion into the association’s period alumni reports, and other ad-hoc reports requested by the leadership teams.
- Attend essential meetings such as Alumni Working Group meetings and other community leaders’ meetings.
- Maintain the Chapter’s mailbox and respond to correspondences for the chapter.
FLIGHT LEAD
The Flight Lead shall:
- Report to the Vice President, Community Engagement of the Alumni Association.
- Build and maintain a team of elected/appointed volunteers within the Flight, to support the day-to-day operations of the Flight.
- Schedule, plan, and organise value-driven, social, and give-back events/activities within their flight, to build connections and drive engagement within their local community
- Manage the assigned Flight community platform ensuring eligible members are admitted and maintained on the platform.
- Support the secretariat with keeping an up-to-date database of members’ records by encouraging and reminding members within their community to keep their membership data up-to-date.
- Disseminate news/updates across their local community to keep members up to date.
- Maintain decorum and a positive culture within their community group(s) with the aim of providing a space where Eagles can connect, interact, and thrive.
- Handle (as a first point of contact) sensitive cases such as welfare cases within the local community, and engage/escalate where necessary within the CUALA leadership.
- Deliver a report of community activities for inclusion into the association’s period alumni reports, and other ad-hoc reports requested by the leadership teams.
