Eligibility Criteria for CUALA Leadership Roles

Here’s a summary of the eligibility criteria for candidates interested in running for the various offices in the 2024 supplementary elections

A candidate for the Office of the President must:

  1. Be a graduate of Covenant University’s full-time undergraduate programme
  2. Have graduated at least 7 years prior to elections
  3. Be a previous/current member of a recognized committee at the center/chapter/flight
  4. Submit references from 2 previous or current members of CUALA leadership, not on the Board (President, VPs, Chapter and Flight Leads)
  5. Be a practitioner of Covenant University’s core values
  6. Have a heart of service and be passionate about the advancement of the Alumni community
  7. Be a financially responsible member of the Association (no outstanding dues)
  8. Be a business professional at mid-level management (at least) or owner/co-owner of a financially stable business or social enterprise
  9. Have been actively involved with Alumni activities (projects, programmes and initiatives) within the last year
  10. Have a proven record of effectively leading a diverse team
  11. Be able to work and lead  remotely
  12. Be in the right standing with Covenant University and CUALA
  13. Be willing to commit significant time to work on CUALA matters

A candidate for the Chapter and Flight Lead offices must:

  1. Be a graduate of Covenant University’s full-time undergraduate programme
  2. Be a practitioner of Covenant University’s core values
  3. Have a heart of service and be passionate about the advancement of the Alumni community and especially, their chapters and flights
  4. Have been actively involved with Alumni and Covenant University activities (projects, programmes and initiatives)
  5. Be a financially responsible member of the Association (no outstanding dues)
  6. Be a professional who is gainfully employed or be a owner/co-owner of a financially stable business or social enterprise
  7. Be able to organize and manage diverse groups
  8. Be able to work and lead remotely
  9. Be in the right standing with Covenant University and CUALA
  10. Be willing to commit sufficient time to work on CUALA matters
